Off Label use of products

Not all pesticides can be used Off Label, as using products that have a higher than allowed residues are detected, can be considerably costly to the grower.

All of Botry-Zen’s products are allowed to be used Off Label. This is indicated by MPI in individual product registration documents. When using our products “Off-Label” users must follow the directions given on the label, especially taking notice of the EPA application restrictions: maximum application rate, frequency and total annual use.

Also growers need to check with the association they belong to (ie: Blueberry Association, Zespri), to see if there are any restrictions on products or active ingredients before they select a product. Some associations have a list of “Allowed Products” that growers must use, and others have more flexibility.

For information about Off Label use check the latest version of the NZGAP Off-Label Guidelines below, produced by NZGAP NZ.

Also below, from NZGAP, there is Appendix 1 - a decision tree describing whether an Agrichemical fulfils the ACVM and EPA off-label guidelines. And Appendix 2 provides a Checklist for ensuring compliance.
