ULOCLADIUM
A FRIENDLY FUNGI
Ulocladium oudemansii (U3) is a naturally occurring soil fungus that also acts as an endophyte—a beneficial symbiont that lives inside plant tissue without causing harm. Once established, it supports the plant from within, enhancing its natural defenses and promoting overall health.
Endophytes like U3 are powerful biological control agents. They work by producing bioactive compounds, outcompeting harmful microbes, and triggering the plant’s own immune responses. This makes them a safe, sustainable option for protecting crops while supporting soil health and long-term resilience.
COMPETITION
Its primary mode of action is competitive exclusion of fungal pathogens such as Botrytis cinerea and Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, effectively occupying the same ecological niche on vegetable crops and ornamental plants to inhibit their growth.
